Who built this

Menelik Williams created AltPath to make UK investing education less overwhelming for beginners. The platform started from a practical need: tools that explain how money works without jargon, hard-sell tactics, or pretending to be something it is not.

AltPath is not regulated financial advice. Menelik is a product builder, not an FCA-authorised adviser. The site exists to educate and simplify - helping people understand their finances, explore historical scenarios, and make informed decisions. Data sources

Stock and ETF prices come from Yahoo Finance. US inflation (CPI) from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. FX conversion uses publicly available rates where needed. Figures can be delayed, adjusted for splits, or incomplete for thinly traded symbols. Always verify before making real decisions.

How content is produced

All guides and tools on altpath.uk are created to educate, not to provide regulated financial advice. Content is written in plain British English, reviewed for accuracy against public sources, and updated when policies or products change materially. Each guide shows its last-updated date at the top of the page.

We do not guarantee investment returns, recommend specific securities, or tailor advice to your circumstances. Historical scenarios use real market data but cannot predict future outcomes. Where we mention specific tickers or platforms, those are educational examples - not endorsements.
